Contract Details

Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council (hereinafter referred to as the Council) is seeking to procure under the Crown Commercial Services Framework Agreement Code RM6265, titled: Vehicle Hire Solution (Lot 5 - Car Share Solution) an electric pool car scheme for its employees and members of the public, with the aim of reducing carbon footprint and mileage travelled in 'grey fleet' vehicles too. A number of Council employees are signed up to the existing scheme, with access to two vehicles. The scheme is also available to members of the public at designated times outside of the council's contracted hours as a 'car club' scheme. Members of the public will sign up for the scheme directly with the Service provider. The current contract ends 4 June 2026 and the Council is considering for the scheme to continue to operate under current provisions, as detailed in this document. The vehicles provided should be fully electric vehicles (EVs). The vehicles shall be fully allocated for staff use during working hours and for public use outside of these hours. Both vehicles are totally allocated to public use outside of working hours. However, employees may also join as public members so that they may use the cars out of contract hours as well but will do at preferential rates. The pricing includes supply of 2 vehicles to Campus East Cherry Tree car park on 5 June 2026.
