The new development will replace an old building and feature zero-gas heating, triple glazing and solar panels
Stirling Council has joined forces with The JR Group, a private developer, to build a new housing development at Glasgow Road in Stirling. The project will consist of one and two-bedroom cottage flats that will be more energy-efficient and attractive than the existing building in the St. Ninians’s area.
The flats will have a range of features to reduce carbon emissions, such as an air exhaust system that does not use gas, windows with three layers of glass, and panels that capture and store solar energy. The development aims to achieve the highest level of environmental performance.
The JR Group said the flats will have a modern design that uses traditional materials, such as timber, brick, render and cladding. The company will use its own specialist divisions to deliver the project smoothly and efficiently.
Gary McGregor, MD for The JR Group, said he was excited to work with Stirling Council for the first time and to create high-quality homes for the local community. He said the development will have a positive impact on the area and the environment.
Councillor Gerry McGarvey, who oversees housing matters for Stirling Council, said he was delighted to see the project start. He said the council is committed to increasing the supply of affordable housing and working with private developers to meet the needs of its residents. He said the project will provide homes that are comfortable, attractive and eco-friendly.
